Our website is a window into the rich tapestry of opportunities, knowledge, and innovation that defines our college. It gives me great pride to inscribe this message as the President of this prestigious college for the year 2023/24. The College of Dentistry and Stomatology Sri Lanka is the prime academic organization for the postgraduate dental professionals in Sri Lanka. Members of the college represent all the dental specialties and play a pivotal role in upgrading knowledge and skills in dental professionals in Sri Lanka.
Since its inception in the 1980’s the members of the College represented the Board of study in Dental Surgery at Post Graduate Institute of Medicine, Colombo. Our members continue to contribute enormously to the advancement of the postgraduate dental education in Sri Lanka.
CDSSL offers research grants every year to promote research activities among the post graduate trainees across all dental specialties. These research grants will aid the trainees in conducting their research in the midst of the current economic crisis situation in the country.
Continuing professional development is one of main responsibilities of the College. CDSSL organizes workshops, online clinical meetings, case-based discussions in order to disseminate and share the knowledge among dental professionals. Furthermore, the Annual Scientific Sessions provides a remarkable learning experience to our members, trainees and dental surgeons each year.
CDSSL has moved forward during past few years by being an advisory body to national level activities of the country. College represents and extends the service to the National Medicines Regulatory Authority of Sri Lanka providing the expert opinion on evaluation and registration process of dental materials, instruments and devices imported to the country. Moreover, the College represent’s different national level activities organized by Ministry of Health Sri Lanka.
The CDSSL is determined to move forward steadily while maintaining professional standards, exploring more opportunities and organizing more activities to fulfil the objectives of the college and finally for the progress and well being of the Sri Lankan community.
The website will provide a platform to display all our academic activities throughout the year. I hope members will get the maximum benefit out of this. I invite all the members to actively participate in future events of the college.
